Each week, I see hundreds of kids come to our farmers market to meet farmers and roll up their sleeves for a free cooking class using fresh fruits and veggies. They connect the face of a farmer with what they are eating, and they are inspired to try so many new types of produce. But more importantly, they are becoming environmental thinkers, because you can't learn about food without thinking about the people who grow it, the resources it requires, and what it does for your body and the planet. You and I know that slowing (and ultimately reversing) the effects of our changing climate depends on supporting ecological farmers, who care for the earth and our community's health. A sustainable food future also depends on investing in our kids--the eaters, farmers, and changemakers of tomorrow--to carry that vision into the future. Create a climate-wise future that supports our farmers, the land, and our kids with a gift to CUESA today. Since we wrote you this morning, we are just $1,350 away from our #GivingTuesday fundraising goal of $2,500. There is no magic benefactor who will swoop in to save the day. You are the hero who will bring us to our goal, whether you're giving $10 or $100. Every dollar matters, and any amount you can contribute--truly, any!--will bring us closer to the healthy world we are building together. Thank you for doing your part! Marcy Coburn CEO of CUESA
P.S. Does your employer offer matching gifts on charitable contributions? This means your gift will go twice as far in supporting healthy kids and family farmers. Donate and double your impact.
