The unintended consequences of NIL and the transfer portal keep coming, with frustrated coaches, legal purgatory and potential ramifications for college athletes. Was it all a big mistake? College Athletes Got Their Payday. Now Comes the Reckoning.

This week, less than 48 hours from the tip-off of March Madness, the NCAA announced it will drop its rule barring athletes from negotiating NIL deals before they enroll to play at a university. That policy begs the question of how fans would know the name, image or likeness of an athlete who hasn’t yet played a minute — but the door is now open for highest-bidder recruitment.

With the walls between college sports and paid athletes at least partially knocked down, questions remain as to how many other traditional rules between program and player will remain in place. Universities might even begin to play a little more hardball of their own. While it will likely take years to sort through the questions and crises, some experts are already debating the long-term effects of the current storm of changes.

Four Men’s Underwear Brands That Should Be on Your Radar

BY MICHAEL STEFANOV

It’s fair to question why anyone would pay more for premium boxer briefs. To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with sticking to the classics — Hanes, Jockey, CK — or performance-driven brands like Tommy John and Mack Weldon, which I wear regularly and swear by. But if you haven’t worn these specialized lifestyle labels, they’re worth having on your radar (and, as we’ll argue, in your rotation). The list below isn’t exhaustive, but it’s a solid starting point, and each brand brings its heritage, signature fits, premium fabrics and unique take on this everyday essential. And because it’s spring, refreshing your drawer with some elevated underwear never felt better. Here, the men’s underwear brands we’re loving right now.
