12 On Your Side: This week's consumer round-up |
Hello everyone! If you’re hitting the road for the weekend, I hope you filled up mid-week. Have you noticed? Gas prices are pumped up! Price jumped a whopping 16 cents in just the past week. You can attribute that to less supply and more demand. And, with spring around the corner, expect prices to continue to creeeeeeeep up. Find the best gas prices anywhere with GasBuddy! Ever drink Canada Dry Ginger Ale to settle your tummy? Well, get this: It’s apparently not “Made from Real Ginger” as the label claims. The company settled a class-action lawsuit -- which means, if you bought the pop between Jan. 1, 2013, and Dec. 19, 2018, you are eligible to file a claim. Without proof of purchase, you may get up to $5.20. If you do have receipts (seriously?) you can get up to $40. The deadline to file a claim is March 19. Here’s a link to the claim form.
