Plus, PPOW Gallery, Latin American Foto Festival, Rappin’ Max Robot, and more.
Welcome to August: We have not one but two new art guides for you, with exhibition recommendations by Hyperallergic editors and contributors of shows to see in New York City, Upstate New York, and even online. With artists like Huong Dodinh, LaToya Ruby Frazier, Dani Klebes, Michael Royce, and so many more, there’s a lot of beauty to feast your eyes on this month.
Our critic Rebecca Schiffman vouches for DON’T YOU MISS US? at Deli Gallery (so NYC!), which presents an intergenerational conversation between Black women artists. From Emma Amos to Brianna Rose Brooks, the show “pays tribute to the revolutionary women who laid the groundwork for contemporary artists.”
And if you want to learn about the Brooklyn Olympics darling “Rappin’ Max Robot,” we recommend reading to the end of this email.
