Plus, it was first day of school for many Mpls. kids who missed classes during teachers' strike
| March 29, 2022 Minneapolis public schools students were in class today for the first time in three weeks. It's the first day of school since a strike by teachers and support staff ended. The district cancelled classes for 15 days, including a final day on Monday, meant to let teachers prepare for kids to come back. District leaders have adjusted school calendars to make up for instruction time required by state law that was lost during the strike. Friday April 1 will be an instructional day, and the school year will be extended to June 24. Starting April 11, the school day will be extended by 42 minutes each day.
