NSTA congratulates the  recipients of its 2016 NSTA Teacher Awards program, which honors K–12 teachers, principals, professors, and other science education professionals for their outstanding work and achievement in science education. The awards will be presented at a special banquet and ceremony on Friday, April 1, at the NSTA National Conference on Science Education in Nashville, Tennessee.

A new study by Horizon Research, with help from NSTA, looks at how K–12 educators responded to the Ebola outbreak. The study sheds light on how teachers will adapt their teaching to address other health crises, including the Zika virus, which could spread to the United States in the months ahead. Schools around the country are partnering with their local zoos to establish "zoo schools," or classrooms at the zoo that enable teachers to incorporate zoo resources into their lessons.
