| Team Previews We are just days away from Opening Day for the 2019 Florida League season! Prep yourself by learning about your favorite team's roster .. who is coming back, which new guys will have an impact, and who will lead the staff on the mound. DeLand Suns | | The Suns look to become the second team in league history to win back-to-back titles, and they will do so with the help of 17 D-1 players, a couple of former MLB draft picks, and head coach Rick Hall who is back for his tenth season. | Leesburg Lightning | | After posting the best record during the 2018 regular season, the Lightning fell short of their third championship. A young, but talented, roster led by Rich Billings will look to regain form and bring the Whiting Cup to Pat Thomas Stadium. | Sanford River Rats | | New head coach Josh Montero has put together a squad full of pro prospects and talented players. The Rats will look to bounce back after a disappointing fourth place finish in 2018. | Seminole County Scorpions | | The Scorpions have a new skipper at the helm, but the 2019 roster includes ten players who have suited up for the Scorpions in the past. Their veteran presence, coupled with an incoming crop of talent, puts the Scorpions in a great position for a title. | Winter Garden Squeeze | | Former big league scouting director Terry Abbott will lead the Squeeze in 2019. The Winter Garden roster features a ton of local talent, as well as a number of impressive players from Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, and West Virginia. | Winter Park Diamond Dawgs | | Chuck Schall inherits a roster made up of new Diamond Dawgs, but that won't stop him from pursuing his fourth straight trip to the championship. Players from Central Florida all the way to New York will make up the talented Diamond Dawgs roster in 2019. |
