The BeadDreams International Jewelry Artistry Awards will turn 20 next year, and to celebrate this milestone organizers are reducing the entry fee by $20 and broadening eligibility guidelines.
• | Entry fees this year will be $35 instead of $55. |
• | Work produced at any time since the founding of these awards will be accepted. |
BeadDreams and its sister competition, the Metal Jewelry Artistry Awards, attract entries from top jewelry artists around the world. Winners are announced each year at the Bead&Button Show in Milwaukee, WI, a weeklong, multifaceted event that attracts thousands of jewelry makers, artists, vendors and instructors.
“To mark our 20th year, we are putting a spotlight on 20 years of amazing artistry,” said Show Director Sara Dumford. “By accepting work produced since 2000, we want to give artists the chance to look back on their body of work and choose pieces that best reflect their technical mastery and design talents.”
The BeadDreams competition awards prizes to bead artists in three categories: Finished Jewelry, Objects and Accessories, and Young Beader (25 and under). The Metal Artistry categories are Metal, Wire, and Student. Entries will be accepted beginning November, with a deadline of April 6, 2020. Prizes valued at thousands of dollars are awards each year.
Past winners are not eligible to enter the 2020 competition. However, artists can re-submit an entry that did not win an award.
