Let’s get nature higher up the climate agenda Protecting nature, and the enormous benefits it provides, is essential to the future of all life on our planet – including us. Not only is nature crucial for our survival (for our food, water and fresh air), it is also vitally important for our well-being and economic prosperity. And there's more. When it comes to tackling the climate crisis, nature really shines. Natural climate solutions, which increase carbon storage in forests and other habitats, can deliver about a third of the global climate deal commitments.
The problem is that, as well as a climate crisis, we also face a growing crisis of nature loss. In 2020, we need world leaders to do the right thing and jointly address the nature and climate crises. It’s up to all of us to make sure they take action and are held to account. So what can you do?
