2023 Crop: Why Not Sell 10%

Multi-year grain sales are intimidating. However, a big-picture focus can pay dividends in grain marketing, says Chris Barron with Ag View Solutions. “I encourage farmers to correlate sales with expenses,” he says. “For example, if you lock in $50,000 worth of fertilizer, why not sell $50,000 worth of grain?”

The Agoro Carbon program is a 10-year contract that pays for a change practice, such as cover crops, no-till, reduced tillage, nitrogen management and rotational grazing, that aims to increase carbon sequestration.
