2023 holiday shopping outloook? In-store visits predicted to hit all-time high

For 36 years Buddie Lee Gray has operated her Home Sweet Home storey tucked inside the Northgate Mall.

It’s been a mainstay in Lafayette’s oldest shopping mall despite the large number of tenants that have left over the years leave. Gray’s gift shop smells mostly candles and fragrance, but she credits her knowledgeable staff and customer service for keeping the business going all these years.

Gray and other retailers in the area are gearing up for a holiday shopping season that some experts are predicting could be the busiest in years.
