Eva Holland is a freelance writer and editor based in Whitehorse, Yukon. She's a longtime, frequent contributor to Outside magazine, and her work has also appeared stateside in the New York Times Magazine, WIRED, Bloomberg Businessweek, National Geographic, Esquire, Travel + Leisure, AFAR, Grantland, Smithsonian, and High Country News, where she has recently worked as a contributing editor focused on conservation in Alaska. At home in Canada, she has written for The Walrus, Canadian Geographic, Chatelaine, Maclean's, Hazlitt, enRoute, The Narwhal, Cottage Life, Hakai, and Up Here, among others. Her stories have been anthologized in The Best American Science and Nature Writing, The Best Women's Travel Writing, and The Best Canadian Sports Writing, and she is the author of two nonfiction books: No Sleep 'Til Fairbanks, a collection of magazine features about the North, and Nerve: A Personal Journey Through the Science of Fear. |

The Magazines Canada Award for Best Advertising Campaign The Magazines Canada Award for Best Ad Campaign celebrates excellence in advertising that appears in Canadian magazines. Campaigns may be print-only or cross-platform and must be finalized for publication in a Canadian consumer, B2B, or arts & literary magazine. Submissions are free for 2025 thanks to the support of Ontario Creates. All that’s required is a completed form and a single PDF file of the campaign. Winning campaigns will be selected based on creativity, originality, effective brand messaging, and strategic use of magazine media. Nominees will be announced in mid-May. Each finalist campaign will receive complimentary tickets to attend an industry reception and onstage recognition at the National Magazine Awards gala, June 13, 2025 at Arcadian Court in Toronto, courtesy of Ontario Creates.
