The Central African Republic (CAR) has begun selling 5% of its total supply of Sango Coin – the national cryptocurrency of the country. The sale began at the beginning of this week, with 200 million Sango Coins available at the equivalent of 10 cents each. |
Buyers require a minimum of $100 in the accepted cryptocurrencies to participate in the sale, which includes Bitcoin, Ether, BNB Coin, or one of four supported stablecoins. |
Sango Coin will be used in the CAR's plans to tokenize its mineral resources, and will run on a Bitcoin sidechain via a two-way peg mechanism. |
