Curtis, Kennedy lead Utah delegation in bill to transfer Moab UMTRA site

U.S. Senator John Curtis (R-UT) and Representative Dr. Mike Kennedy (R-UT)—along with Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) and Representatives Burgess Owens (R-UT), Celeste Maloy (R-UT), and Blake Moore (R-UT)—today introduced the Moab UMTRA Project Transition Act, legislation to authorize the transfer of the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) site to Grand County upon the completion of cleanup and remediation. The proposed transfer will allow the community to chart the long-term future of the site once it is deemed safe for reuse by the Department of Energy and other regulatory agencies. (Read More)


Utah consumer sentiment continues to decrease

Utah’s consumer sentiment fell 8.0% in March, from 88.1 in February to 81.1, according to the Kem C. Gardner Policy Institute’s Survey of Utah Consumer Sentiment. A similar survey conducted by the University of Michigan measured an even more significant decline (11.9%) in sentiment among Americans as a whole. (Read More)
