Good morning, Marketer, and there’s always room for debate.
My interview last week with Oracle EVP Rob Tarkoff has certainly sparked some discussion. I am sure he knew he was being provocative when he said: “Best of breed has jumped the shark,” and talked about the “crazy concept of continuing to add point applications.” Oracle, however, has been consistent over the years in advocating for a unified CX suite.
But there are people in the space who aren’t ready to fall in line. Robert Rose of the Content Marketing Institute (and one of our content marketing experts to follow) said: “If you find an enterprise company that does all that across the customer experience, you have found a candy-coated technology unicorn that will rain magic coins upon you.”
He goes on to say that the one sure thing is that this debate isn’t over. Although Rob Tarkoff made some telling points, I bet he’s right. I’d love to hear your thoughts: kdavis@thirddoormedia.com
