NATIONAL: The Event Depot, a curated marketplace by event professionals for event professionals, launched last week. Founded by 20-year industry veteran Jordan Kaye of Analog Events, The Event Depot offers four curated, full-service kits, priced from $375-$750, designed to provide simple solutions for event pros. The kits are themed specifically for wedding planners, event producers, social planners or meeting planners. LOS ANGELES: The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood is now open. The 220-room property features a courtyard event space with seven adjacent hospitality suites, as well as the 12,000-square-foot I/O rooftop, which has a 70-foot projection mapping video wall, two bars, a swimming pool and fire pits. There’s also an on-site restaurant ALK, which features a wide variety of plant-based and vegan options. NEW YORK: Thrillist is kicking off a new experiential franchise, Thrillist Block Party, in Harlem on Sept. 12. Focusing on reigniting communities by bringing people back together in person, the event will feature a Black Greek fraternity and sorority unity stroll, a DJ set, roller-skating, pop-up performances, food trucks, a marketplace of local Black vendors and more. Proof of vaccination is required for the event, which will travel to New Orleans, Atlanta and Los Angeles in the future. Seth Rudetsky, SiriusXM's Broadway host, will be returning to Asylum NYC this year with Seth's Broadway Breakdown. The comedy performance will have a review show on Sept. 12 and performances three times a week starting on Oct. 15. The show will be produced by Alan Kliffer, Asylum NYC's artistic director. Tickets are on sale now. OMAHA, NEB.: Jasmyn Goodwin has been promoted to vice president of marketing and communications for Visit Omaha, the official tourism authority for the City of Omaha and Douglas County. Goodwin has been with the organization for 14 years; she’s most known for launching the Visit Omaha brand on social media in 2018, and for managing Omaha Restaurant Week since 2017.
