NATIONAL: Event management software company Aventri and live video solutions platform Brandlive have announced a new partnership. Organizers can now use Brandlive’s Greenroom video production software and other content creation tools to bring TV-like virtual and hybrid events to the Aventri platform. CHICAGO: Nonprofit organization The Chicago Scots will host its 20th annual Kilted Classic Golf Tournament on Sept. 30 at Cantigny Golf Course. The Scottish-themed day will feature entertainment from bagpipers and Highland dancers, as well as Scottish beer and whisky tastings, food stations and themed competitions. All proceeds will benefit Caledonia Senior Living and Memory Care. LOS ANGELES: The 37th edition of the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival takes place Sept. 23 to Oct. 2. Presented annually by Visual Communications, the hybrid event will be held both virtually and at select cinemas in the L.A. area. This year, the festival will also continue to host C3, a space for creators to converge and celebrate creative communities with both virtual and in-person panels and conversations. PHILADELPHIA: The highly anticipated W Philadelphia is now open across from City Hall. The 295-room property has gathering spaces including the Living Room, which features a wall of hand-painted, custom-ceramic skulls; Stevens’ Prophecy, a salon with artwork celebrating actress Grace Kelly; and the WET Deck, which includes a heated pool, a bar and a garden area for live performances. In all, there’s 45,000 square feet of event space spread across 37 meeting rooms. SAN FRANCISCO: SF Sketchfest will host its 20th-anniversary edition from Jan. 7-23, 2022. The comedy festival, which was canceled in 2021 but has been holding a series of virtual events and livestreams, features stand-up, alternative comedy, music, improv, cast reunions, live podcasts, panels and more.
