Auburn Mall medical
 
The Auburn Mall could soon be home to a new, two story medical facility, replacing previous plans for a movie theater that was approved last year. The new plans proposed to the Planning Board ditch the 10 to 12 screen theater for an undisclosed type of medical use. The changes will be discussed at a November 15 meeting.
 
Railroad sale
 
The Providence and Worcester Railroad has been purchased by Connecticut-based Genesee & Wyoming for approximately $126 million. The deal covers the local railroad’s 163 miles of track, 140 employees and 32 locomotives.
 
Chomping at the bit
 
The city of Worcester's Economic Development Coordinating Council is in talks with a California company to make it the first resident of a biomanufacturing site on the former site of the Worcester State Hospital. The redevelopment of the former hospital campus was only announced just last month.
