On June 4, celebrate 60 years of revolutionary music by the Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra as REDCAT welcomes the collective for an evening of new and memorable tunes. Founded in 1961 Los Angeles by the legendary Horace Tapscott, the Arkestra started as a collective of Black jazz musicians as a response to the racial inequality in the U.S.. Artists subjected to prejudice who saw opportunities denied to them found an outlet to express themselves. The Arkestra is currently mixed with veteran members as well as young musicians, all led by Mekala Session with the help of Jamael Dean and veteran members.  BUY TICKETS HERE |
