Good morning! It's Thursday, and U.S. stocks are coming off a declines in Wednesday's trading session. The Dow fell 0.5% on the day while the Nasdaq lost 0.3% and the S&P 500 fell 0.1%. Fed Forecast The Fed held its monthly press conference yesterday and kept rates near zero, as expected. The central bank is expected to run a loose monetary policy for the foreseeable future, and Chairman Jerome Powell didn't say anything to indicate otherwise. Biden Binge In Biden's first address to Congress last night he outlined another multi-trillion-dollar spending plan that could benefit some sectors of the economy. The $1.8 trillion proposal calls for major spending on trucking, semiconductor manufacturing, and other areas. |
