(Ozge Elif Kizil / Anadolu Agency via Getty Images) At least seven people were killed on Monday after multiple missiles struck Lviv, local officials said, a deadly extension of Russia's war into a western Ukrainian city that has become a refuge for thousands fleeing from further east as well as a major supply and logistics hub. Ukrainian officials said missiles struck three military targets and a fourth hit a tire-fitting center. The facilities were severely damaged, the officials said, but while locals worked quickly to extinguish fires, the strikes served as a reminder that Russian forces would continue to threaten all of Ukraine even as the Kremlin refocuses its attacks on the country's east. Over the weekend, the capital, Kyiv, and Kharkiv in the northeast were targeted. And in Mariupol, the strategically crucial southeastern port city, the last Ukrainian resistance refused to surrender despite a Russian ultimatum and an unrelenting siege.
