| | Seven inmates are dead and 17 injured after fighting at the Lee Correctional Institution, a maximum security prison in Bishopville, S.C., the South Carolina Department of Corrections tweeted Monday. Prisons spokesman Jeff Taillon said State Law Enforcement Division agents helped secure the prison around 3 a.m. ET Monday. Taillon said multiple inmate fights broke out at 7:15 p.m. Sunday. No officers were wounded.
