THURSDAY, AUGUST 15, 2024 TODAY: Mostly Sunny Highs: 85-88 Winds: North 5-10 mph Our stretch of stellar summer weather rolls on with another comfy morning followed by a seasonably warm afternoon with low humidity. Sunny skies are expected for much of the day with some high clouds rolling in this evening. This could aid in a pretty sunset. TONIGHT: Partly Cloudy Lows: 61-69 Winds: South 5 mph Another pleasant night is ahead with temperatures in the 60s areawide under a waxing gibbous moon. FRIDAY: Partly Cloudy Highs: 87-91 Winds: South 5-10 mph Our weather pattern will start to change with a southerly wind slowly increasing humidity levels. Friday will be the hottest day of the week with highs around 90 degrees. Humidity levels will be low enough that we won't have much of a heat index. Latest guidance continues to show little to no rain in D.C. Highest rain chances Friday will be in the mountains. SATURDAY: Mostly Cloudy Scattered Showers and Storms Highs: 83-88 Winds: South 5-10 mph Plan for a more typical mid-August day with high humidity and feels-like temperatures in the low 90s by the afternoon. A few very early morning showers may make for wet pavement to start the day. Scattered showers and storms are possible during the afternoon and evening hours, so have the umbrella at the ready. Sunday: Partly Sunny Scattered Showers and Storms Highs: 83-86 Winds: Southeast 5-10 mph While it won't be a total washout, showers may make some outdoor activities and little less desirable.
