Frost is likely. WEDNESDAY: Partly Sunny Highs: 40-45 Winds: Southwest 5-15, Gusts 25 mph It is slightly warmer on Wednesday as winds turn out of the southwest. A robust cold front will approach the area later in the day and overnight. THURSDAY: WIND ALERT Early Morning Rain/Snow Showers Partly Sunny, Windy Highs: 43-48 Wind Chills: 30s to 20s Winds: West 10-20, Gusts to 40+ mph A cold front will clear the Mid-Atlantic ushering in gusty northwesterly winds. Gusts to 30 mph can be expected for the metro area, with strong winds exceeding 40 mph over the mountains. FRIDAY: Mostly Sunny, Breezy Highs: 35-40 Winds: Northwest 10-20 mph Cold temperatures continue to round out the work and school week. Highs may struggle to reach 40 degrees for many neighborhoods.
