FRIDAY, JANUARY 10, 2025 TODAY: Morning Sun Then Cloudy Highs: 32-36 Winds: Northwest 5-10 Another frigid morning with air temperatures in the teens and 20s. Morning breezes will ease, so it should feel better outdoors compared to yesterday. High temperatures will remain well below average, but at least most neighborhoods are forecast to climb above freezing this afternoon. Morning sun will fade behind the clouds, as our next weather maker approaches bringing a chance for light snow. TONIGHT: Snow Showers Lows: 24-39 Winds: Light Areas of light snow will develop from west to east after 9 p.m. Snow showers are expected to begin 10 p.m. to midnight in D.C. with light snow falling through the overnight hours. Snow will taper off from west to east before sunrise Saturday (7: 26 a.m.). A fresh coating of snow is expected with 1-2" likely. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 10 pm until 7am. for our southern zones. A general 2 inches is expected with up to 3" of snow possible in these areas. Any untreated surfaces could be slick. SATURDAY: Morning Clouds to Sun Highs: 35-40 Winds: Northwest 5-15, Gusts to 20 mph Watch for slick and snow covered streets early in the morning. Morning clouds will give way to sunshine for your Saturday afternoon with highs in the upper 30s to low 40s in our south and western zones. SUNDAY: Sunny and Cold Highs: 35-40 Winds: Northwest 5-10 mph It will be a sunny and cold end to the weekend with highs back into the upper 30s. Fortunately, winds will be light, so we won't be wind-chilled. NEXT WEEK: Monday will feature highs in the low to mid 40s, which is where temperatures should be for this time of year. It will certainly feel better after a full week of highs in the 30s. Make the most of it because another arctic airmass will settle in starting Tuesday with highs in the 20s and 30s through midweek.
