FRIDAY, MAY 16, 2025 TODAY: STORM ALERT Partly Sunny, Hot & Humid Tracking Rain, Storm Chances Highs: 85-89 Winds: Southwest 5-10 mph Today brings a somewhat complicated and iffy forecast for most of the DMV. What's certain is that it will be hot and very humid this afternoon with highs in the mid to upper 80s with feels-like temperatures at or above 90 degrees. Showers and storms are possible at any given point, however, forecast trends have differed in coverage and intensity. The ingredients will be in place (the heat and humidity) for storms to reach severe limits with damaging wind gusts over 58 mph, small hail, and an isolated, weak tornado. First Alert Weather is on "storm alert" for this potential for stronger storms, and will continue to monitor the situation carefully. TONIGHT: Partly Cloudy Chance Rain, Storms Lows: 65-70 Winds: Southwest 5-10 mph It will remain warm and muggy overnight with scattered clouds. There will continue to remain a chance for scattered showers and storms overnight, but some neighborhoods may stay rain-free. SATURDAY: Morning Clouds to Sun Showers and Storms Possible, Breezy Highs: 85-89 Winds: Southwest 10-15, Gusts 25 mph Early morning clouds are expected with warm and muggy conditions during the morning. There's a slight chance for showers and storms early in the morning, but skies will brighten through the day with falling humidity during the afternoon. It will be warm with highs in the mid to upper 80s and a nice breeze.
SUNDAY: Mostly Sunny, Less Humid Highs: near 80 Winds: Northwest 5-10 mph A refreshing change is expected for the second half of the weekend! Expect cooler, more seasonable, temperatures, lower humidity, and gusty breezes, at times.
