THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2024 TODAY: Mostly Cloudy Stray Shower Highs: 75-80 Winds: North 5-10 mph After record breaking warmth Wednesday, it will remain warm and humid today ahead of our next weather maker. We are currently experiencing our longest stretch of dry weather on record (35 days). A cold front approaching from the west will bring us added cloud cover today and a very small chance for rain. A passing shower or sprinkle is possible mid to late morning, but many neighborhoods will stay dry. TONIGHT: Mostly Cloudy Rain Chance south of D.C. Lows: 46-59 Winds: North 5-10 mph This evening another round of showers may develop around the Shenandoah Valley and will push east through Fredericksburg into southern MD overnight. Skies will clear from north to south, so cooler air will settle into our northwestern suburbs with lows in the 40s. Milder temperatures are expected in D.C. and areas south. FRIDAY: Mostly Sunny Highs: 68-74 Winds: Northwest 5-15+ mph We'll round out the week with sunshine and lower humidity. It will still be warmer than average with many neighborhoods reaching high temperatures in the low 70s with a refreshing northwest breeze. Cooler air will settle in for the weekend. SATURDAY: Mostly Sunny Highs: 60-65 Winds: Northeast 5-10 mph After a crisp start in the 40s, sunshine will help temperatures climb into the upper 50s to low 60s by the afternoon. While it will be noticeably cooler than recent days, it will be more seasonal for early November. SUNDAY: Morning Sun to Clouds PM Shower Chances Highs: 56-59 Winds: South 5-10 mph Patchy frost is possible to kick-start the day with wake-up temperatures in the mid 30s in our western metro suburbs. Morning sunshine will give way to a cloudy afternoon ahead of another weather maker that will bring shower chances by the late afternoon and evening hours.
