| | | | | | | | | © Francesco Gozzi | | | | | | 7th Edition MIA Photo Fair 2017 | | | | APPLICATIONS OPEN | | | | 9 – 13 March, 2017 | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | © Francesco Gozzi | | | | | | MIA Photo Fair, the international photography and moving image art fair of Italy, will stage its 7th edition in Milan from Friday, 10 March to Monday, 13 March, 2017 at The Mall - Porta Nuova. The VIP opening will take place on Thursday, 9 March.
MIA Photo Fair is currently accepting applications for the solo show and the group show sections from galleries presenting curatorial projects. The deadline for applications to MIA Photo Fair is 25 November, 2016.
The 2016 edition of MIA Photo Fair welcomed 135 exhibitors from 13 different countries worldwide, with 230 artists, 16 specialized publishers and a rich cultural program, displaying 58 events such as conferences and talks covering subjects from the photography market system and the world of collecting, book presentations and book signings.
Excellent results in terms of visitors’ attendance and sales for the sixth edition of the Italian photography art fair: +10% vs. 2015 with a total of 24,000 admissions and 85% of the galleries have sold photography artworks.
The fair also featured four sponsored awards: BNL BNP Paribas Group Award an acquisition award which enriches the Banks’s art collection, Proposta MIA Award addressed to MIA Proposal talents, Eberhard & Co. Award devoted to photography archives and the special portfolio review Award Codice MIA, assigned by a jury of international art collectors, especially invited to take part to the fair.
MIA Photo Fair offers the possibility to art collectors to enjoy a lively and innovative art event, experiencing a unique view in Italy on the photography art market, ranging from established to emerging artists. MIA Photo Fair has achieved the result of creating a new collectors’ base which approaches contemporary art through the collection of photography.
