MEDIA LOSER: MSNBC's Joy Reid Joy Reid was hard-pressed this week to understand why Republicans have been denouncing Nick Fuentes after his dinner with Donald Trump because, according to MSNBC host, the white supremacist neo-Nazi really isn’t fundamentally different from the beliefs of the GOP. Reid spoke with Democratic strategist Kurt Bardella on Tuesday about the already infamous dinner between Trump, Fuentes, and Kanye West. The aftermath has spiraled to the point that GOP leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) came close to explicitly calling it disqualifying for the party’s 2024 nomination. But, Reid said, the rationale is hard to track, as she sees a "small degree of difference" between the GOP's views and morals and Fuentes'. She went on to argue that the party mirrors what Fuentes believes, citing the pro-life movement and Trump's baseless election fraud claims. While some members of the GOP continue to validate Trump and his refusal to accept the 2020 election, many have denounced the dinner. Even Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) made a sad effort to distance herself from Fuentes. Perhaps a bit drastic to deem an entire party almost indistinguishable from a vile white supremacist. |
