No jail time for Jefferson Parish deputy: The first Jefferson Parish sheriff's deputy convicted of illegally killing someone in the line of duty will serve no jail time, getting a sentence Tuesday of three years of probation for fatally shooting a man in Marrero in 2022. Michelle Hunter and Joseph Cranney took a look at how that sentence compares to similar cases of excessive use of force or negligent homicide in Louisiana. Troop NOLA chase: Louisiana State Police troopers patrolling New Orleans chased a suspect from Central City to Lakeview on Tuesday, ending with two arrests and a car crash that injured one bystander. Missy Wilkinson has this report. Insurance crisis threatens Habitat residents: The state's property insurance crisis is threatening another group of homeowners: the roughly 100 New Orleans residents facing imminent foreclosure from homes they purchased through Habitat for Humanity.
