Green vs. Gray: There is a bit of a battle playing out about stormwater drainage in Lakeview, with an $18 million project to bolster lagoons and other natural features coming under fire from folks who say that pumps and canals are a better way fight flooding in the area. Ben Myers has the story.
Landry's challenge: Attorney General Jeff Landry is challenging a law passed overwhelmingly by the legislature last year to help judges and prosecutors cut lengthy prison terms for inmates whose convictions have been undermined by new evidence. Landry questions the law on constitutional grounds, but there is some precedent to suggest it might be on solid footing.
Transgender ban: For the second year in a row, the Louisiana legislature has passed a bill banning transgender athletes from competing in girl's and women's sports. Gov. John Bel Edwards vetoed the ban last time around, and while he has not said what he will do this time, he has called such a law mean-spirited and unnecessary.
