A free celebration of science and the arts in South KensingtonThe Great Exhibition Road Festival returns
Londonist partner content: bringing you the best events, offers and more around the city. Insect yoga. Aurora Borealis-inspired drawing workshops. A rib-tickling quest for the weirdest object in the universe… Nowhere shines a spotlight on science and the arts quite like The Great Exhibition Road Festival. Frankly, we’d expect nothing less from a celebration that involves such iconic institutions as the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, the V&A, Royal Albert Hall, and Imperial College London (to name but a few). This free festival takes place on and around Exhibition Road in South Kensington (AKA, one of our happy places — it being home to all those aforementioned museums, research and culture organisations) on Saturday 7 June and Sunday 8 June. There are events for all ages, with a whole area dedicated to family fun (including a stage hosting relaxed, interactive performances), and adults-only zone complete with a bar (hey, it is the weekend). The whole thing is catnip for curious minds — combining cutting-edge experiments, mind-bending technology and live science shows with music, dance, art and parades.
