A free festival for curious minds Attitudes towards autism. A history of sunscreen. Just some of the many and varied topics covered at the British Academy's Summer Showcase, a free public event taking place across two days this July, inspiring you to think differently about the world around you. Step inside the British Academy's building on Carlton House Terrace, and meet leading thinkers and researchers in the fields of humanities and social sciences. BAFTA-winning filmmaker David Olusoga, sociologist and journalist Gary Younge, and disability activist and broadcaster Dr Shani Dhanda are among the experts taking part in conversations and panels. There's also a series of snappy 10-minute talks giving you the lowdown on the latest research into language acquisition, music in pubs, kleptocracy and so much more. Keen to get more hands-on?
