Good morning,
Many of us woke up early Friday, July 4th, to the alarming news and disturbing images of catastrophic flooding in Kerrville. As the morning wore on, it was clear that the disaster extended well beyond Kerrville - that it was up and down the Guadalupe River. Word quickly spread on social media that the many children's camps in the area were in trouble - the tragic reality is now known. So much of Texas is suffering.
A few weeks ago, I shared with you an inspiring story about a giant, empty cross in Kerrville. A cross that clearly, years ago, was divinely inspired to be erected high on a hill above Kerrville. Since the weekend's tragic events, a number of you have reached out about that episode, commenting that the message of that giant cross might be comforting to many right now. I agree, and want to share its story with you again. We all know someone affected by this flood - my heart breaks for my friends and Texas neighbors who have lost loved ones.
I believe Jesus' light shines in the darkness - The Empty Cross is a reminder.
