A message from Chris Chiew, London Drugs General Manager of Pharmacy, regarding COVID-19
Dear valued London Drugs patients and customers, There is understandable concern about COVID-19 in our communities right now and we would like you to know London Drugs is doing everything possible to help keep our staff and customers safe and healthy during this time. Your health and your family’s health are paramount to us. We are learning more about COVID-19 every day and we know there are steps we can all take to reduce our risk of getting the virus or spreading the virus if we become infected. Please know that at London Drugs, we are taking multiple actions to protect our staff, patients and customers. First and foremost, as a healthcare provider, we have stringent sanitation practices in place, and we have increased the frequency of sanitation at all of our pharmacies and stores. We are cleaning all of our pharmacies and all of our store service areas including shopping carts and shopping baskets every hour. We have dedicated staff at each store assigned to cleaning and sanitation. We also have emergency measures in place should a staff member become ill or if we are notified by a health agency of a patient or customer who has contracted COVID-19. If there comes a time where we learn of a staff member or patient in the store who has contracted COVID-19, we may need to adjust store hours or close a store temporarily if we are directed by the local health authority to do so. We will close a store temporarily, if it is in the best interest of our staff, customers and the greater public. When it comes to protecting everyone’s health, customers are still very much looking for cleaning and sanitation products, as well as masks. We are ordering and receiving new shipments of supplies and allocating to our stores as quickly as possible. If your store is experiencing a shortage of these products, please know we are working to re-stock and you will see more products on the shelves as soon as the inventory is available. You are welcome to call us ahead of visiting our stores, to see if the items you are looking for are currently available. Also, some customers may feel more comfortable shopping from home right now and having their items delivered. A reminder that we offer same day service during the week, and at times we can deliver within a few hours. You can also order your prescriptions online or by phoning your pharmacy, and home delivery of prescriptions may be arranged. To help keep all of us as safe and healthy as possible, please know that at London Drugs corporately, and at all of our stores, planning and preparation is taking place on a daily basis in response to COVID-19. If you have any questions or concerns about your health, we encourage you to contact your health care professional and this includes speaking with our pharmacists. Priority for all of us right now needs to be constant hand washing, staying home if we are feeling sick, and if we do get sick, self-isolating at home to not spread the risk of the virus. If you experience a fever, dry cough and flu-like symptoms, you must call your local health authority who will direct you to next steps including where you can take the COVID-19 test.

If you see our team wiping down payment terminals, cash registers, countertops and door handles, please know this is an effort to reduce any risk. As the situation evolves, you may see our stores implementing new measures to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. We will continue to do everything we can, always with the goal of maintaining your trust and to give you and our teams peace of mind, regardless of how you shop with us; online or instore. For 75 years, Canadians have been placing their trust in us. We take that very seriously and will never do anything to violate that trust.
Sincerely, Chris Chiew General Manager, Pharmacy London Drugs
