Good evening,

Good evening,

With Virgin Australia's shortlist done and dusted, we thought we better take a look at the other big talking point in Australian dealmaking: Matthew Grounds.

If there were fancy lunches going on at Flower Drum or Rockpool Bar & Grill, there'd be ample time devoted to Grounds, his next move, and how UBS is faring in Grounds' absence.

To fill the void, we've set our marker in the sand and it involves some surprising names. Yes, there's Hamish Douglass and Magellan, and some former UBS colleagues, but there's much more.

And according to people involved, Grounds and Co are hoping to have it settled by the end of this month.

Elsewhere, we look at how BGH Capital's other weekend project - Village Roadshow - came together, and unveil another asset getting some attention at the growth end of the market.

Happy reading,

Sarah Thompson, Anthony Macdonald and Tim Boyd
