The saga, both tedious and horrifying, of Trump's refusal to accept failure in the presidential elections was interrupted by other news on Friday: the assassination, on a Tehran street, of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, head of Iran's nuclear weapons program.

Chuck Freilich writes that Israel was justified in killing Iran's atomic chief: "the world is a better place for it." But the crucial question is whether it was a smart move, right now. He is more than skeptical.

In contrast, a trio of Mideast experts, Steven Simon, Joshua Landis and Aiman Mansour argue that assassinations and sanctions aren't working: America and Israel need a new strategy on Iran – and they offer a non-violent alternative, one that calls on Israel's new Gulf friends to step up.

Etan Nechin explores how America and Israel's right wing have hijacked the term 'pro-Israel' – and how that struggle could determine who wins Georgia's runoffs, and control of the Senate.

Anshel Pfeffer explains why Mike Pompeo is the 'Messiah of the BDS movement,' Eric Yoffie entreats Israel not to hail Jonathan Pollard as a returning hero, and Jonah Nelson unearths the story of the rabbi co-opted by Virginia to keep its ban on interracial marriage alive.

And ICYMI: I wrote about what it's like to go to bed with Donald Trump every night.
