A new strain: Four people in Louisiana have contracted a new subvariant of Omicron, according to LSU, the first known case of this particular subvariant in the U.S. Here's what we know so far. A well-read letter: Tom Barton, 71, a retired computer programmer from Baton Rouge, wrote a letter to the editor that unbeknownst to him, caused quite a stir on the web. Gordon Russell has the story.
