A PRIEST REMEMBERED: As pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Covington, the Rev. Otis Young Jr. was always grinding to improve his parish, and Ruth Prats, the pastoral associate, was the one who implemented his vision and led the ministries. That’s how friends described them Tuesday, the day after Young’s body and another set of remains, believed to be Prats, were found burned behind a Covington business. Their accused killer, out of prison just three months, is being held without bail. BIENVENUE: French President Emmanuel Macron's visit to New Orleans, the first by a French president since 1976, will include a walk in the French Quarter, climate discussions with Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards and dinner featuring music and film industry figures, the French consulate said Tuesday. RESPITE: The 2022 Atlantic Basin hurricane season ends Wednesday, having delivered something Louisiana hasn't had much of in recent years: quiet. It included a near-average number of tropical storms and hurricanes, but also a pause in landfalls along the Louisiana coastline, providing residents with more time to recover from the disastrously intense years of 2020 and 2021.
