Bill Gates is not my cup of tea for a lot of reasons…
But is there anything we can actually learn from him?
Fitness advice? – Nope.
Fashion advice? – No way.
Marriage tips? – Definitely not.
But wait…
What about productivity?
He does seem to get a lot done.
Well, it turns out that Billy Boy stole a great productivity tip from his bridge partner, Warren Buffett.
According to an article on Inc.com, one day Billy G was visiting Buffett at his office in Omaha.
Somehow Billy got a look at Warren’s calendar (Billy was probably trying to steal something).
He noticed that Warren had entire days blocked out with NO meetings or appointments…
“I was shocked,” Billy said. “I always thought that if you wanted to be productive that it was best to cram as many back-to-back meetings into your day.”
“But Warren’s approach was the complete opposite…
“Compared to having multiple meetings every day,” Billy concluded, "Sitting and thinking may be a much higher priority."
Bill Gates might be one of my least favorite billionaires…
But he’s right about the power of thinking.
What Billy doesn’t know is my secret weapon for getting even MORE out of your thinking time.
And that secret is to take your thinking outside on a Whitespace Walk.
However, Whitespace Walking Thinking Time ONLY happens when it’s on the calendar.
Your first time challenge is to clear your calendar every Friday morning from around 8am to 10am (or another time that’s convenient) for a Whitespace Walk in nature…
Where you have time to think about and solve your biggest problems.
And make plans for taking advantage of your biggest opportunities.
This simple act – of walking and thinking – will be a HUGE game changer in your business and life.
Just make sure to use your breakthroughs for good…
And not nefarious activities like ol’ Billy G.
I recommend giving this a try ASAP.
You should feel the difference almost immediately.
