A Reward for Losing Money in Gold Stocks?Do losses in junior mining stocks earn us "time served?"
I just had to pass this cartoon along to you, my long-suffering subscribers. Peter Spina, my long time Czechoslovakian friend, tweeted out this last week. I don’t mean to suggest that suffering from losses in the gold share investment space wins any points on Judgement Day. I’m not of the theological mindset that losing money washes away any sinful acts. Only God has done that. Actually, Jesus said that we are to be “wise as serpents and gentle as doves.” So, we are not supposed to be stupid. But despite having a series of tough years in the junior mining space, perseverance and sticking to what we believe to be true no matter what the masses of those around us suggest is most certainly a virtue as long as we keep and open mind to the truth. While it seems much of the world is literally going to hell in places like the Ukraine and the Middle East, there is solid reason to believe that our Creator God is a forgiving God who has promised us eternal life to all those who put their faith in Him, not necessarily in gold though there is no doubt that He gifted humanity with gold to be used as an honest monetary metal and as a means of preserving wealth when the sin of fiat money “legally” robs each one of us. After all, robbery is exactly what fiat money is designed for. J Taylor's Gold Energy & Tech Stocks is a reader-supported publication. I am not suggesting that by losing money from some recommendations in this letter will get you an eternal pass out of hell into eternal bliss. But I do believe, based on history, that those who have set aside gold will be better positioned to face the upcoming economic and political storms than those who haven’t prepared. And there is reason to believe better days may be ahead for us long suffering gold and gold share investors. But gold can’t buy eternal life. That is a gift given to us by our Creator. As such Christians should want to live the kind of life that the Apostle Paul talks about in the following text from Colossians 3:1-17. And to the extent we do, there will be far less hell on this earth starting in small everyday lives whether we are making money in our gold and silver shares or not. Striving Toward Christian PerfectionI Colossians 3:1-17 3 Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. 3 For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. 5 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator. 11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all. 12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
