Sweating it out: It doesn’t just feel hotter. It is hotter. So says a climate watchdog group that used government weather data to determine that, yes, New Orleans now sweats through more days above 95 degrees than it did 50 years ago. With the heat being turned up, a lot of folks are naturally turning down their AC thermostats. Some good news? Entergy tells customers their bills likely won’t be as high as last summer.
Judicial allegations: A state judge in St. John the Baptist Parish is being called before the Louisiana Judiciary Commission to answer allegations that his actions are stalling police investigations, John Simerman reports. The judge has denied the allegations.
Calling it home: A software firm is relocating its offices to New Orleans. 360insights is leaving Delaware for the Crescent City, a move state economic folks say will create 56 jobs over the next couple of years with an average salary of $85,000.
