Nashville parallel: On several occasions while under investigation, former New Orleans police officer and mayoral bodyguard Jeffrey Vappie searched the web for details on a 2018 scandal in Nashville, one that cost the mayor her job and resulted in criminal charges for her and her protector. What does that case have in common with the drama now playing out in New Orleans? James Finn has the story. Blue sky outages: Entergy officials addressed City Council members Tuesday about why the city has seen a spike in power outages this year, especially during good weather. Outages are up 60%, affecting more than 177,000 households and businesses. Sam Karlin has this report. Catch basins: Soon, for the first time in three decades, the responsibility for maintaining catch basins in New Orleans will be the responsibility of a single agency.
