Of course you should check in with your Thanksgiving host about what would be helpful to add to the menu and/or drink stash. But it’s also lovely to bring a gift that’s just a gift—something for your hardworking host to enjoy later, like a little kitchen gadget or some fancy soy sauce. Maybe homemade apple butter or a selection of really nice chocolate. Anyone who washes a lot of dishes can appreciate a high-end hand cream. But please, offer to do some of the dishwashing, too.
