Scotland pauses to reflect The nation will pause today in remembrance of those who have died during the coronavirus pandemic – a year after the country first went into lockdown. A minute's silence organised by end-of-life charity Marie Curie will be held at 12pm followed by a bell toll, and people are being encouraged to stand on their doorsteps at 8pm with phones, candles and torches to signify a "beacon of remembrance". Nicola Sturgeon 'misled the committee' long awaited report concludes The long-awaited report into the Scottish Government’s handling of harassment complaints against Alex Salmond has concluded that Nicola Sturgeon did mislead Parliament over the nature of a meeting with the former first minister on April 2, 2018. In a split decision with all SNP members of the committee dissenting, the Holyrood inquiry said the First Minister left Mr Salmond with “the impression” that she would intervene and that she “has misled the committee on this matter”. James Hamilton wrote to Scottish ministers raising his concerns about the redactions which would be made to his report which was the result of seven months of investigation into whether the First Minister had broken any rules in her statements to Parliament about the Alex Salmond sexual harassment complaints.
