AB Espresso: Emirates to integrate crypto payments in 2026

Emirates has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Crypto.com to integrate cryptocurrency payments into its systems. Customers will be able to use Crypto.com Pay for flights and services from next year. The move supports Dubai’s goal of becoming a global hub for digital finance.

In other major developments, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has completed an upgrade of the Al Wasl Street–Al Manara Street intersection. The works included a new lane connecting Al Manara Street to Sheikh Zayed Road and a dedicated U-turn lane to ease congestion and improve traffic flow.

On the real estate front, Dubai Sotheby’s International Realty has closed the sale of a seven-bedroom mansion in Hills View, Dubai Hills Estate, for AED 150 million. The property includes en-suite bedrooms, rooftop lounge, and outdoor leisure areas. The agency represented both buyer and seller.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet has approved a new property ownership law for non-Saudis, set to take effect in January 2026. The law includes provisions for property ownership in Makkah and Madinah, with certain conditions. The aim is to attract more foreign direct investment.

Aside from this, Red Bull has announced the dismissal of Christian Horner from his role as Formula 1 team principal. Horner led the team since 2005, securing eight drivers’ championships and six constructors’ titles. The decision was confirmed in a company statement on Wednesday.
