Yas Waterworld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, has opened the 13,445 sqm “Lost City” expansion, adding over 20 new rides, slides, and experiences. The launch increases the waterpark’s total attractions to more than 60, making it one of the largest in the region.

Aside from this, Dubai Holding and Select Group have signed an agreement to develop projects at Palm Jebel Ali and Dubai Design District. The partnership is Dubai Holding’s first strategic land sale with a third-party developer at Palm Jebel Ali and involves Emirates Strategic Investments Company as a joint venture partner.

In other developments, GEMS Education has introduced GEMS School Management, a programme to develop and manage schools worldwide in partnership with governments and investors. The venture offers end-to-end solutions to launch or transform schools within 12 months and is in discussions with stakeholders across eight international markets.

On the transport front, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has completed traffic improvement works between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road via Al Meydan Street. Upgrades include widening exits and expanding bridge capacity as part of 75 planned mobility projects supporting urban growth.

In addition, Emirates will deploy retrofitted Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s on routes to Milan, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Shanghai, Singapore, and Zurich from October 26, 2025, in response to increased passenger demand.
