AB Espresso: UAE salaries to increase 4%

Salaries across the UAE are projected to increase by 4 per cent in 2025, with over a quarter of organisations planning to expand their teams, according to Mercer’s annual Total Remuneration Survey. The study, which surveyed more than 700 companies, highlights upcoming trends across various industries in the region.

Meanwhile, Dubai Taxi Company has added 250 new licence plates to its fleet, raising its total to 6,210 vehicles. The expansion, dedicated to electric vehicles, will bring in additional annual revenue of approximately AED85 million ($23.1 million), and will boost the company’s eco-friendly fleet to 87 per cent.

On the banking front, Emirates NBD is launching its Next Generation programme, aimed at private bankers and wealthy clients. As the region prepares for an AED3.6 trillion ($980 billion) generational wealth shift, this initiative seeks to bridge legacy with leadership for families and businesses navigating intergenerational wealth transfer.

Aside from this, Dubai’s Gold Souk Extension is offering shoppers a chance to win a 24K gold-plated Tesla Cybertruck, as gold demand typically rises in the UAE during the final quarter, driven by events like Diwali, UAE National Day, and New Year celebrations. Dubai’s competitive gold prices continue to attract interest from both tourists and residents.

Finally, in a major development, the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge (RAK DOK) has introduced a Golden Visa programme for private school educators, offering long-term UAE residency to teachers, principals, and education leaders in the emirate. The programme, launched through self-sponsorship, aims to recognise contributions to education in Ras Al Khaimah.
