BY VICKI FERSTEL | Staff writer In early December, Meta, the parent company of Facebook, announced plans to build a $10 billion AI data center in north Louisiana's Richland Parish about 30 miles east of Monroe. Once it's completed in 2030, the 4-million-square-foot facility — more than three times the size of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport — is expected to employ 500 permanent workers and support hundreds of indirect jobs.
