About that old Chili's building

That old Chili's space on Ambassador Caffery Parkway may be getting used again. 

Permits this week show the building, owned by El Paso Mexican Grill owner Ruben Chavez, will get updated in order to open as a coffee shop. 

Chavez has been busy in the Lafayette market in the last 18 or so months. He bought the former Cajun Market Meats building in Youngsville, land near in the Destination Pointe development just north of I-10 in Scott and had an aborted attempt to open a restaurant in the former Hooters space.
